Vehicle Presentation: At this stage, the salesman starts making a roll call of all the features and benefits of each car that is in view. He obviously tries to push the envelope on certain description just to entice you and also paint a fine picture of the dealership. While at this point it’s expected that you carry out your appraisal of the car. The car appraisal process at this stage should involve checking out the interiors, upholstery, accessories. You can also request for a view of the engine, a detailed written report on its performance, descriptions, etc.   

Demo Ride: At this stage, you are given a ride by the salesman through a defined route, and you are also allowed to take charge of the wheels too. So at this point, you are continuing with the car appraisal to have a feel of the car behind the wheels, rev the engine and take notes of any underlining detail.

Negotiations: The next stage will involve discussing the terms of the purchase including the price, verification of the car’s documents, mode of payment, insurance, and warranty agreement. However, it’s strongly advised that you endeavor to stick to your budget during the negotiation process because it’s one sure way of not feeling cheated or after the entire process. In addition, based on your informed car appraisal you won’t love to end up with a car you can’t afford to maintain.
